It is a game for four players that originated in Mainland China.
Mahjong involves skills, strategy, and calculation,as well as a certain degree of chance.
In Asia,Mahjong is also popularly as a gambling game .In the game, each player is dealt either thirteen or sixteen tiles in a hand.(Taiwan usually deals with 16 tiles,Hong-Kong go with 13 tiles)
On their turn, players draw a tile and discard one ,with the goal of making four or five melds.
In my family(not all of Taiwanese), adults always play Mahjong gambling on the Chinese New Years Eve. I am not sure that Japanese or Korean play it or not,but Mahjon indeed a popular game to Chinese.Tell me,if u are from other foreigner countries and u know how to play.
